Making this world a little greener, one city at a time
Being the host city of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, one would expect Vancouver House to be nothing short of amazing. On Friday, I first-handedly experienced Vancouver House and WOW, it truly made me proud to call this city home.
Aside from the obvious breathtaking landscape and welcoming hearts of the people, Vancouver House shows that this city outshines others by marking this city’s strong new economic development focus, “Green Capital”. Showcasing our city’s leaders in the environment, new media, green technology and creative sector, Vancouver House strives to embody the city’s dedication to offsetting our carbon footprint. From using recycled tyvek as light fixtures to salvaging wood from the pine beetle infestation for wood paneling, the Vancouver House puts our city in a global spotlight. With only one week left of the Olympics, Vancouver House is definitely a must see!
