LIVE at Squamish a rocking success!
Phew! It's hard to believe it was just last week when we were putting the finishing touches on our LIVE at Squamish site. We're pleased as punch with how every bit of the weekend unfolded - from the ever so talented band lineup to the undeniably breathtaking site to our always-dancing-fest-goers!
On top of it all, we're blushing from ear to
ear from all of the good words coming out of the media world! We thought we
would share a small sampling of the sugary sweet things reporters and
bloggers have had to say about LIVE at Squamish. To all of the media that made their way up to Squamish, kudos for your words and
incredible shots!
Vancouver Sun:
"Ultimately, the
first edition of Live at Squamish offered a sturdy musical lineup with plenty
of local talent, great production and an amazing setting, and the festival
attracted just about every type of music fan you can imagine -- from
mom-and-pop-and-the-kids playing improvised soccer games or posing with Square
the Bear (that bear was a popular feature), to hipster kids, laid-back rock
fans and club-loving party seekers all getting along."
"I am the heart that
you call home, sings Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy on The Engine Driver. On
Sunday night, as the Portland indie darlings closed the main stage with their
trademark whimsical musings, you couldn't help but feel that, for two days,
Live at Squamish had shown it had a whole lot of heart, and that it would be
easy to call it home again over the next few years."

Miss 604:
"You can’t beat the scenery here (trust me, your breath will be taken away) and the vibe is fun and positive."
"The bands were on
fire (solid sets, great voices, rocked out instruments) and the mood was light
and festive. My highlights included We Are the City, Jon & Roy, Mother
Mother (who drew an immense crowd & hung out in the audience after their
set), and Bad Religion. I tweeted last night that one of the first mp3s I ever
downloaded in the mid-90s was ’21st Century Digital Boy’ and it was awesome to
see Bad Religion — celebrating their 30 year anniversary — rock it out last
night."

Georgia Straight:
"You can’t beat a
clear sunny day in a lush green mountain-surrounded bowl. And then there’s
Squamish itself—far enough to give you that road-trip high, but close enough to
ward off any kind of long-drive car-lag."
Vancouver is Awesome:
"The line up was
incredibly varied and included some great Vancouver and BC bands as well as
Canadian and international bands and DJs. It was an amazing experience and I
can’t wait for it happen again next year!"
