brand.LIVE wins top spot at national awards

Vancouver, BC, March 28 – Catherine Runnals, president of brand.LIVE Management group was awarded Event Professional of The Year at the 2011 Canadian Event Industry Awards on Friday March 25. The award recognizes individuals that have made exceptional contributions to the Canadian event industry over the past year.
Taken into consideration were Catherine and brand.LIVE’s 2010 portfolio, including 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Game pavilions Alberta House, Vancouver Green Capital and Heineken House; the 2010 Celebration of Light Fireworks Festival; the 2010 LIVE at Squamish Music Festival; the SFU Woodward Campus opening; and a host of other galas. Further considerations included Catherine’s charitable work for Burnaby Family Life, the Forum for Women’s Entrepreneurs and the Civic Task Force for the Redevelopment of North False Creek.
A total of five were nominated for the coveted spot, including three from Ontario.
brand.LIVE also won an award for Best Pavilion for its work on Alberta House, and received a nomination for Best Festival for the 2010 LIVE at Squamish Music Festival.

The Canadian Event Industry Awards program (also called STAR Awards) has been running successfully in Canada for 14 years and has handed out over 400 awards to Canadian producers, designers, chefs, entertainers, caterers, marketers and planners from every area of the industry. The award gala is held in March in Toronto, Ontario.
