2011 Grey Cup Festival!
It was a rockin’
weekend in Vancouver with the 2011 Grey Cup Festival taking over the city. The
festivities lasted from Thursday to Sunday and included award ceremonies,
galas, live music, street festivals, beer gardens and of course… Football! Thursday night kicked
off the Grey Cup weekend with the annual Gibson’s Finest CFL Player awards,
which recognized the season’s most outstanding players. The Blakes
After-Party took place immediately following the Player Awards. CFL Player
Award winners and nominees, CFL All-Stars, coaches, management and business
leaders all celebrated the evening at a private post-event cocktail party. The biggest party of
the Grey Cup Festival was the beer garden and concert series at the Molson
Canadian House held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. This beer
garden was complete with a full line-up of entertainment plus daily
performances by CFL Cheer Teams. Opening Friday night, the Molson House was a
full on party until doors closed at 3:00pm on Sunday. The Scotia Bank Gala
was the perfect place for people to show their sense of team pride through face
paint, jerseys and a lot of cheering! Finally, to wrap up
an already exciting weekend, the BC Lions took on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in
a fierce game at the newly renovated BC Place Stadium. After an outstanding
effort from both sides, the BC Lions took the win and were awarded the 2011
Grey Cup. For more great photos of the
